Invent-Tech receives samples and positive news on previously licensed DotComs™ invention…
May 19th, 2006
Greetings, Juan C. Blanco, Invent-Tech’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with a Friday evening update. We had the pleasure of capping a very busy and successful week at Invent-Tech by receiving samples of a previously licensed product, the DotComs™, as well as a letter from the licensee detailing the product’s progress so far. The product, which is a snack food item, will apparently be available soon at several major retail and grocery chains across the country according the letter. Additionally, it appears that demand has already been sufficient enough to warrant the contracting of a larger factory to meet it!
We originally covered the licensing of the DotComs™ in a March 17th post right here on the Invent-Tech Network (”Three-party licensing agreement secured for Invent-Tech client“).
An independent patent attorney that has been contracted by Invent-Tech is also in the midst of determining what the best method of intellectual property protection for the DotComs™ will be.
This scenario demonstrates that many factors can come into play when determining how quickly a product may actually appear on store shelves after it is licensed. It is important to emphasize that whether a product actually makes it into the hands of consumers after Invent-Tech has faciliated the licensing of it to a manufacturer is something that is out of Invent-Tech’s control. In this case however, it appears that the relative ease with which the product can be manufactured and packaged has helped greatly in speeding up the process.
We will keep you posted right here on the Invent-Tech Network if and when we become aware of any new developments regarding the progress of the DotComs™.
