Stringent training, certification and evaluation prepares New Project Directors to represent Invent-Tech
June 14th, 2006
Every new inventor starts out with the same questions . . . Invent-Tech’s Sr. Technical Writer here with an introduction to our New Project Directors who can answer them.
Inventors are acutely concerned with the confidentiality of their ideas and preventing them from being used without their permission. They are interested in being able to pursue an idea that may not yet be fully formed and are not sure how to go about it. They want to understand the process of bringing an idea from their mind to the marketplace. Most often, they don’t have much experience in developing new products and they are looking for someone they can share the idea with in trust.
Enter Invent-Tech’s New Project Directors. Our NPDs are the first line of open communication between the company and the inventor. They assist in documenting and confidentially submitting the idea to Invent-Tech, and carefully explain all of the details about our entire range of services. They are also there to educate the inventor about the invention industry and dispel any misconceptions an inventor may have about the process.
Not all projects are created equal. Some may require extensive research while others may only need the proper foundation and presentation. However, in any case, trying to create something that was not there before is never easy.
There are many ways that Invent-Tech can help with an idea or new concept. The NPD’s main job is to gather as much detail as possible about an inventor’s idea, which then enables our Production and Visual Design departments to produce high-quality, accurate marketing materials. They ask many questions to ensure that all of the relevant factors have been discussed and that everyone involved is heading in the same direction.
Says one of our senior NPDs, “Inventing is a highly competitive business—truly ‘survival of the fittest.’ Patience, commitment, positive mental attitude and determination are requirements in order to make it in this business. Most of our clients have a full time job and a life outside of their invention. They have a vision of what they want to accomplish but they may not have the experience, resources or time to do it on their own. That’s why they call Invent-Tech.”
In order to be able to assist inventors and represent Invent-Tech with confidence, our NPDs undergo an intensive training period, during which they are armed with the information, materials and tools they need to communicate to prospective clients what they can expect when working with Invent-Tech. The training period prepares the NPD for Compliance Certification, which is conducted by a member of the Compliance & Quality Assurance department.
This certification determines whether an NPD is prepared to address a prospective client’s questions about Invent-Tech’s services. Before they are able to speak with clients regarding their new product ideas, NPDs must demonstrate their professionalism and understanding of all aspects of Invent-Tech’s business.
Furthermore, once they pass Compliance Certification, an NPD is regularly evaluated to ensure they are maintaining current knowledge of enhanced services and news related to the company, and can therefore represent Invent-Tech accurately and thoroughly. The training, certification and evaluation of our NPDs fully prepare them to assist inventors in determining whether Invent-Tech is the right company for them. Please call 1-800-940-9020 to speak with one of our New Project Directors or to request more information.
In our continuing series about the Compliance & Quality Assurance department, we will return next week with an entry that details some of the steps we take to ensure a client is fully satisfied with our services.

[…] When the Invent-Tech staff first receives an inventor’s submission, it is processed through our Administrative Support department. This department sorts out incomplete or illegible documents, as well as inventions that fall under restricted categories, as discussed in the August 10th entry here on the Invent-Tech Network, “How Many Ideas Does Invent-Tech Accept or Reject?”, Those submissions found to be acceptable for further assistance are then assigned to our New Project Directors, whose role was explained in a June 14th post.
