Invent-Tech client secures licensing agreement for breakthrough kitchen aid

March 1st, 2006

Preparing a salad is more cumbersome than the final product—a simple combination of vegetables on a plate—leads you to believe.  Just cutting the lettuce into bite-size pieces is time-consuming and awkward, due to its size and rigid texture.  The process is also messy, further prolonging preparation with the added cleanup step.

With this in mind, inventor Gerald W. of Marietta, Georgia created the Lettuce Lopper. Gerald began to develop the idea in March 2004 while preparing a salad the ordinary way.

Gerald contracted with Invent-Tech® of Coral Gables, Florida, the industry’s preeminent inventor assistance firm, in July 2004, to assist him in the public relations and promotion efforts of the Lettuce Lopper to manufacturers and marketers.

Due in large part to its revolutionary, patent pending licensing process, in December 2005, Invent-Tech® was able to secure a potentially lucrative multi-year royalty agreement for the Lettuce Lopper with a leading company in the household products industry. The licensee has plans to aggressively market this item through their extensive distribution channels.

The agreement includes a royalty rate that is extremely competitive compared to current rates being paid in the household products category. Invent-Tech will also be contracting with an intellectual property attorney in the attempt to secure the appropriate protection for the Lettuce Lopper, such as a patent or trademark.

Additional information about the Lettuce Lopper may be obtained by contacting Invent-Tech® at (800) 940-9020, extension 2280 or at mrt@invent-tech.com.

[…] Good Thursday evening, Juan C. Blanco, Invent-Tech’s Director of Product Licensing, checking with an update on the 1 year anniversary of the Invent-Tech Network. It has undoubtedly been a momentous 12 months of bringing our readers the latest news on licensing, trade shows, manufacturer interest, intellectual property milestones being achieved, new inventions in the Invent-Tech database, and the host of other topics that have been covered in what has become the preeminent invention-related blog on the World Wide Web. In fact, the degree and wealth of information covered on the Invent-Tech Network over the past year necessitates more than one entry to do it justice! Although the Invent-Tech Network website has existed since April 2005, it was not until March 1st, 2006 that we began regular daily updating of this space. Our initial entry was fittingly focused on what Invent-Tech is so proficient at delivering–licensing agreements. That particular posting recounted the licensing of the Lettuce Lopper (”Invent-Tech client secures licensing agreement for breakthrough kitchen aid“), and became the first of close to 200 posts in the Licensing News section of our blog.
