Invent-Tech’s inventors license products to improve popular spring activities
March 1st, 2006
As the spring season approaches, people, especially those who live in cold weather regions, are itching to enjoy the outdoor activities they love but have been unable to do because of the weather. They yearn to restore order and beauty to their hibernating garden or play their favorite outdoor sport.
Two inventors represented by Invent-Tech, who have reached licensing agreements with manufacturers, are determined to have their products in the marketplace as soon as possible to enhance some of consumers’ preferred springtime activities. Look out for their inventions, the Tennis Net Lifter and the Rock & Mulch Guard, on the shelves of sporting goods outlets and gardening product retailers.
From the time they can walk, tennis players are trained in the intricacies of the sport. Whether it’s serving, returning or figuring out the proper spin to put on the ball, tennis takes years of practice and hard work. Jim Shull, a tennis pro, school teacher and coach, saw a need for specialized skill development in high school. The Silver Lake, Indiana resident created the Tennis Net Lifter to make tennis drills more demanding.
According to the Sporting Goods Manufacturer’s Association Sports Participation Survey released in April of 2005, over 18 million Americans play tennis. The Tennis Net Lifter is a net feature that increases difficulty in competitive training. It gives a new perspective, forcing players to hit the ball deeper into the court. The Tennis Net Lifter greatly benefits players needing more depth for singles, as well as more spin on their serves. This valuable new training device is a durable solution to the need to raise the net quickly, and it’s also nearly vandal proof, making it great for anyone who plays tennis, especially competitively.
The annual National Gardening Survey, which interviewed more than 2,000 U.S. households about their gardening activities and purchases, reported 78 percent involvement in some kind of lawn and garden pursuit in 2003. Nothing is more frustrating than removing mulch and rocks when gardening. It is a time consuming process that can take hours to complete. This spring while planting flowers, Fremont, Nebraska residents Gary and Jane Mueller encountered this problem. Vowing to come up with a solution, they put on their thinking caps and are now ready to share their invention with the world.
Their unique idea, the Rock & Mulch Guard, keeps the base of plants free of mulch and rocks, eliminating the hassle and back breaking task of manual removal. This simple, yet effective design reduces garden maintenance, and cuts labor time in half. The Rock & Mulch Guard collects water and fertilizer that will go straight to the roots, allowing plants to sprout faster. It’s easy to use, comes in a variety of colors and is guaranteed to make any user the envy of neighbors worldwide.
