Invent-Tech receives exciting update on previously licensed dental accessory; scheduled phone call with company interested in specialized apparel accessory conducted this morning…
January 23rd, 2007
Good Tuesday evening, Juan C. Blanco, Invent-Tech’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with the latest news on what was a very productive second day of our work week. Not only did we kick off the day with some interesting developments regarding one of the products we have previously assisted in licensing, we also took the next step in our dialogue with the company that has had an interest in a specialized apparel accessory from our roster.
We received a call today from the North Carolina-based licensee of the Help and Care At The Dentist invention, a product idea that we had originally assisted in licensing in October 2006 and that we most recently reported on in a November 10th entry (”Invent-Tech receives updates on several previously licensed products; previously licensed Buck Fighter invention to have provisional patent filed…”). As we’d stated at that time, the licensee was already involved in serious discussions with a major dental products distributor regarding the item. Those talks incidentally, are still ongoing, and the company has high hopes for a successful outcome to them in the near future. However, there are positive developments beyond this as well.
The licensee, which has a proprietary technology that they are implementing into the inventor’s idea to enhance the overall functionality and marketability of it, has received word from a major cable network that the technology itself will be one of the featured topics in a May installment of a highly-rated series they produce and air that features inventions and innovations that enhance modern-day life. The licensee also informed us that on the show, they plan to demonstrate how their technology will work with several different products, one of which may very well be our inventor’s item! While they made sure to emphasize that nothing was solidified yet in terms of which products will be used, this is certainly a very encouraging sign nonetheless. At the very least, we definitely know that this company is working diligently on developing the invention further, and it is doubtlessly a high priority within their organization at this time. As customary, we will keep you posted on additional developments should they occur, here on the Invent-Tech Network.
Also, as we’d reported in our entry yesterday, we had a call tentatively scheduled for today with the company that has been expressing an interest in a specialized apparel accessory from our invention roster. I spoke personally with one of the principals of the company today and went over our licensing goals in detail. The company is interested in reviewing the rough prototype of the invention that the inventor has, and they will most likely get a chance to do this first-hand in the near future. In the meantime however, the contact at the company I spoke with explained that he would broach the topic at today’s afternoon meeting with his board of directors, and would then get back to us later in the week. We will bring you any updates on this situation as well as soon as we have them.
The week is already off to a momentous start. Join us tomorrow for more!
