Invent-Tech celebrates a year of the Invent-Tech Network with first installment of a 2-part retrospective…

March 1st, 2007

Good Thursday evening, Juan C. Blanco, Invent-Tech’s Director of Product Licensing, checking with an update on the 1 year anniversary of the Invent-Tech Network. It has undoubtedly been a momentous 12 months of bringing our readers the latest news on licensing, trade shows, manufacturer interest, intellectual property milestones being achieved, new inventions in the Invent-Tech database, and the host of other topics that have been covered in what has become the preeminent invention-related blog on the World Wide Web. In fact, the degree and wealth of information provided on the Invent-Tech Network over the past year necessitates more than one entry to do it justice!

Although the Invent-Tech Network website has existed since April 2005, it was not until March 1st, 2006 that we began regular daily updating of this space. Our initial entry was fittingly focused on what Invent-Tech is so proficient at delivering–licensing agreements. That particular posting recounted the licensing of the Lettuce Lopper (”Invent-Tech client secures licensing agreement for breakthrough kitchen aid“), and became the first of close to 200 posts in the Licensing News section of our blog.

With regards to licensing, the Invent-Tech Network has aimed to give readers a unique and unprecedented view of the journey a product idea takes from when its information first lands in the hands of a prospective licensee, to when the signatures are actually executed on the licensing agreements themselves. We have used the different circumstances that each potential licensing scenario brings to illustrate the diverse factors that play a part on whether or not those scenarios actually culminate in success.

Invent-Tech has also attempted to shed light on the sometimes nebulous post-licensing phase by providing the latest updates on the trials and tribulations that our licensed products experience as they strive to reach the consumer market. We have been especially proud to also report on the successes these inventions have achieved, such as our memorable October 25, 2006 entry that celebrated the placement of the previously licensed Dot Coms on the shelves of two of the largest retail conglomerates in the world (”Previously licensed Invent-Tech product selling in Wal-Mart and Kroger food stores“). Additionally, we have notified our readers each time that a licensed Invent-Tech inventor product idea has achieved a notable intellectual property milestone, such as patent pending status, at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Our Trade Show Buzz section meanwhile, represents a first of its kind in our industry—multiple intra-day updates live from the Invent-Tech booth during each of the major trade show events that we attend. By elaborating on everything from the latest visitors to our booth to what companies we are networking with regarding our clientele’s new product ideas, Invent-Tech has attempted to allow our readers to vicariously experience the vibrant and electric atmosphere of a trade show through our updates. We have additionally focused on the great degree of interest displayed at these events in our dynamic new product idea subscription service, Innovation Direct , which has significantly streamlined the way vital information on inventions in our database is delivered to the manufacturers that can potentially license them.

Thank you for being with us for this first installment commemorating the Invent-Tech Network’s 1 year anniversary. Join us tomorrow, as we bring you an overview of the various ways we have utilized the Invent-Tech Network to bring additional exposure to unlicensed inventions from our roster, as well as the various recurring series of topics that have been covered by our Sr. Technical Writer.
