Update: Manufacturer’s interest in Invent-Tech inventor product perseveres through weather-related damage…

May 15th, 2007

Good afternoon, Juan C. Blanco, Invent-Tech’s Director of Product Licensing, back with a rather unusual update. A restaurant accessory from the Invent-Tech roster that we had last reported on in an October 5th, 2006 entry (”Invent-Tech secures advanced level of interest in restaurant accessory…“) is still the subject of a manufacturer’s interest—in spite of the fact that all of the materials pertaining to the invention were destroyed in a flood of the company’s warehouse in March!

In response to a request for an update sent via e-mail yesterday by the Manufacturer Response Team member that has been handling this company’s interest since its onset, the company principal that we have been dealing with explained that storms in March in the Northeast had flooded their warehouse, and certain documents and materials had been irretrievably damaged. Included in this apparently, was a prototype the company had created for the item as well as the draft of a licensing agreement that we had sent them for review.

The company representative did request that we resend them the agreement, and also explained that they would be constructing another prototype as they continue to evaluate the possibility of adding this invention to their product line.

We’ve always emphasized how integral perseverance is in the pursuit of an invention to market, and this can sometimes even be in reference to the manufacturers as well! Check back with us frequently for more news!
