Invent-Tech Housewares Show experience mirrors that of many previous events…

March 14th, 2006

Throughout the last 3 days we have been attempting to provide an ongoing perspective on what typical “trade show” days are like. I thought I’d elaborate further on what the dynamic of an exhibit such as this one usually is, so as to provide a better understanding to those readers who may be wondering how Invent-Tech’s presence at a show can benefit their individual product idea.

As you have observed from the various Housewares Show updates, we are constantly either being visited at the booth or are out networking with companies on the show floor. This ongoing stream of activity is reflective of the very objective of a show: laying the groundwork for what will hopefully be a fruitful relationship between two parties that will be beneficial for the long-term.

Within the unique context of what Invent-Tech does, this translates into our company obtaining the pertinent information from a manufacturer or marketer on what they are looking for and what the best way might be for Invent-Tech to get them information on it. It’s often that simple.

Notice that I did not mention anything regarding the discussion of specific product ideas that are previously unknown to the manufacturer we may be speaking to. Besides the obvious matters of confidentiality that have to be addressed beforehand, Invent-Tech’s goal is to always present information to a company in the best format, and at the right time. In other words, we want and need a captive audience that will treat the invention materials we send them with upmost importance.

The trade show environment, with its hectic pace, is therefore usually not conducive to the individual review of new product information. Additionally, the designated individual for new products within that company may not always be at the trade show, as many manufacturers opt to send sales representatives to push their own new products instead. This is not a problem for Invent-Tech however, because of the trade show system we employ. With our primary goal usually being to make sure we know who the right person to speak to about new products is in that company , our objective can still be accomplished whether that individual is present or not.

We even begin the pre-planning of our follow-up process before the show is over. With the complete access we have to all of our inventions through our Invention DataVault right here in our booth, we actually begin to formulate an overview of which product ideas might best fit with a particular company that we’ve met before the event even comes to a close.
