Invent-Tech’s preliminary services essential to helping product ideas get started on the right track
March 27th, 2006
Greetings, Invent-Tech’s Sr. Technical Writer back to tell you more about our services. After inventors evaluate the research on their product idea presented in the Invention Research Portfolio, they are better prepared to make an informed decision about the future of the project. They may decide the market atmosphere for their invention is not favorable, or their belief in its potential is bolstered further.
When an inventor chooses to continue with the marketing assistance of Invent-Tech, they are provided with an Inventor’s Companion Handbook, and their idea is registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Disclosure Document Program. The Disclosure Document is not a patent; however, it is a form of certifying the conception date of the invention. Based upon the initial invention details submitted by the inventor, it confirms the inventor’s involvement in the development of the invention and strengthens their ability to safeguard the proprietary features that set it apart from existing products.
The Inventor’s Companion Handbook provides a reference for inventors on how to present an invention to industry. It gives the inventor an overview of considerations such as marketing the invention through trade shows and other means; understanding the licensing or sale of and invention and handling the negotiations; and preserving the invention’s confidentiality. Equipped with these tools, the inventor, with Invent-Tech’s assistance, sets out on the quest for a company to license their product idea. The road ahead of them requires a tremendous amount of patience and persistence, but Invent-Tech strives to help give their invention the best possible chance to make it to the marketplace.
