Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with a report on the Apparel, Shoe, and Gift Show that took place at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico September 21st- 23rd. The ITT Licensing™ representatives that attened the event informed me that the proceedings were replete with some very well recognized and renowned names, and that the event seemed to certainly be more expansive than last year’s.
Among the notable companies that exhibited or were represented prominently by wholesales were Guess, Coach, Gund, and Hanes, with a number other solid mid-to-large size entities present as well. As customary, the mission of ITT Licensing™ in attending a trade show was to garner as many contacts as possible on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors within the pool of exhibitors present and to briefly introduce our dynamic new product idea subscription service for manufacturers and marketers, Innovation Direct™. Customarily, it is the weeks and months that follow a trade show event where a relationship with a trade show lead can blossom, and our Innovation Direct™ program’s model allows that development to occur multiple inventions at a time.
Stay tuned to the Invent-Tech Network in the coming weeks for a summary of our follow-up efforts regarding these companies!

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an Innovation Direct™-related update. Earlier Monday, ITT welcomed yet another company into its dynamic new product subscription service for manufacturers, Innovation Direct™, by preparing and sending preliminary, non-confidential information on 10 Invent-Tech inventor product ideas in a variety of categories. The manufacturer, who boasts 5 offices worldwide and has the capability to take a concept through the full process of development according to their official website, had originally contacted ITT Licensing™ through our website several weeks ago regarding their manufacturing and prototyping services.
Once it was explained to the company representative that contacted us that the inventors that ITT represented were seeking to find companies to license their products as opposed to entering into contract manufacturing agreements, the gentleman explained that they would be very interested in also reviewing concepts in all sorts of different categories for potential licensing. As per his communication at that time, the company also manufactures and markets their own products in a variety of categories.
Accordingly, the ITT Licensing™ representative managing the situation spent some time putting together their initial Innovation Direct™ package and came up with 10 Invent-Tech inventor concepts he felt will be a very good start to the relationship with this company. We now await their impressions of the material sent and will certainly bring you the details when we do receive them, here on the Invent-Tech Network. Check in with us often!

Good day, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’ s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our latest Innovation Direct™-related report. Updating a situation we had most recently reported on just yesterday , we are pleased to report that we have already received a signed non-disclosure agreement in return from the Massachusetts-based Innovation Direct™ company that was the subject of that posting for the 3 Invent-Tech inventor product ideas they have further in interest in from their initial Innovation Direct™ package.
Accordingly, access to all of the detailed design information for each of the items has already been sent to the contact at the manufacturer via e-mail. We now look forward to the company’s impressions of the material and certainly hope that all of the inventions will be subjects of an advanced level of interest.
Check in frequently with the Invent-Tech Network for the latest!

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, back once more with another Innovation Direct™-related update. Earlier Wednesday, the ITT Licensing™ representative managing the Innovation Direct™ account of a Massachusetts-based company that we had originally met at July’s ASI Show Chicago 2008 received an e-mail from the company’s chief operating officer informing him that 3 Invent-Tech inventor product ideas from the initial batch he had been sent were subjects of further interest.
When we had originally sent them the batch of product concepts in late August, our contacts at the company had informed us that they would be providing us with their impressions of the preliminary, non-confidential information on the 12 product ideas sent as soon as they possibly could. We were pleased to see that they complied with their promise rather quickly, and have already sent them a non-disclosure that encompasses all 3 of the concepts they specified via e-mail for signature. Once that is received in return, ITT Licensing™ will be able to provide them access to all of the detailed design information available on each of the inventions.
Stay tuned to the Invent-Tech Network for all updates!

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our first update regarding Day 2 of ASI Show Chicago 2008. The proceedings have gotten off to a fast and productive start during Day 2, as ITT Licensing™ representatives have managed to make several solid contacts in the opening hours on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors.
The first company of note is Storus, a San Ramon, California-based outfit that specializes in the manufacture and marketing of a variety of storage products. In fact, during the conversation that ITT had with him at his exhibit booth, the President and CEO of the company showed our colleague at the show a jewelry box he licensed some time ago and currently pays royalties to the inventors on. The gentleman expressed a willingness to work with ITT Licensing™ in reviewing new product information on Invent-Tech inventor product concepts on an ongoing basis.
Rahway, New Jersey-based Inventures Products, LLC was the second entity that bears mentioning. The company’s Director of Business Development was our contact at the exhibit booth, and he provided further details on their existing product lines. The company currently markets personal medical accessories and emphasized that they are very willing to review new Invent-Tech inventor product concepts and to sign non-disclosure agreements as well.
The third company was a consumer electronics and computer accessories firm based out of Spokane Valley, Washington by name of MMI. We had the pleasure of meeting the company’s Sales Coordinator, who indicated that all invention material should go directly to her for review. According to their official website, the company has offices in the U.S., China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong and extensive distribution.
We are certainly looking forward to establishing Innovation Direct™ accounts for all 3 companies and building ongoing relationships with them that benefit Invent-Tech inventors. Check back in for a wrap-up of Day 2!

Good evening, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our final report regarding Day 1 of ASI Show Chicago 2008. It has been a momentous initial installment of the show for ITT Licensing™ on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors, and we fittingly wrapped up the day by meeting with the principals of two product development companies that have the ability to take a wide variety of concepts from the abstract to store shelves.
The first outfit is a Massachusetts-based company that specializes in bringing products to both the retail and advertising speciality industries. As the company president explained in his conversation with us, his company and a sister firm have been instrumental in supplying many ASI supplier members with new items for years behind the scenes but this year, they opted to have an exhibit booth at the show for the first time. As per their official website, the company has developed and marketed items in the household, food and drink, plush toy, and office supply categories in years past, and are constantly seeking new innovations. Because of their considerable receptiveness to new inventions in a large number of categories, we feel this company may prove to be an invaluable addition to our Innovation Direct™ program going forward.
The second entity is an Indiana-based company that has an impressive staff of individuals specializing in all types of engineering, and that has spearheaded the launch of several new products over the last few years. At this show for example, the company is displaying a prototype of an innovative new golf item for the first time, and the production molds of the product are currently being finalized overseas. According to our conversation with one of the company principals at the booth, they are very interested in seeing as diverse a sampling of new product ideas as possible, as they have the ability to place items through a number of distribution channels.
We will certainly keep Invent-Tech Network readers abreast of all developments with these companies in the future. Join us Thursday as we bring you latest from the second and final day of ASI Show Chicago 2008!
July 23rd, 2008
Good afternoon, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our second update regarding Day 1 of ASI Show Chicago 2008. The momentum created this morning spilled over into the afternoon hours, as ITT Licensing™ trade show personnel made several potentially valuable contacts on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors while walking the aisles of the McCormick Place. As customary for ASI-sponsored events, diversity is the name of the game in terms of exhibitors at the show. Contacts made in the early afternoon hours today included companies specializing in the kitchen, outdoor, automotive, cutlery, and food storage and cooler product categories. These manufacturers are in addition to the catalog company mentioned in today’s previous entry, which manufactures and sells an extremely eclectic group of items in and of itself.
Overall, it can certainly be stated that ITT Licensing™ has made a significant number of contacts over the last few hours that can potentially benefit a wide variety of product ideas on the Invent-Tech roster in the future. Join us this evening for a wrap-up of Day 1!

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our first update regarding Day 1 of ASI Show Chicago 2008. As expected, the event has gotten off to a productive start for ITT Licensing™ on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors, as our representatives walking the event floor have been able to speak with and make contacts with manufacturers in a wide cross-section of industries.
Companies met during the first few hours this morning include the longest-tenured catalog company in the U.S., which has been in business for 160 years. With product lines that include high-end home living products, toys, consumer electronics accessories, outdoor living items, and sports and leisure items, this outfit certainly presents a tremendous amount of potential opportunity for Invent-Tech inventor product ideas.
The contact made during today’s conversation is a senior account executive in the Corporate Sales division, but he was able to orient ITT as to how to contact the corporate office, where all new product development is handled. We are certainly intrigued by the possibilities this connection may bring about and provide updates if and when the relationship evolves, here on the Invent-Tech Network.
Join us later on Wednesday for more details on Day 1!

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update regarding the latest happenings with the Innovation Direct program and the Invent-Tech inventor product ideas that benefit from it. The last couple of weeks have been particularly eventful in terms of a considerable number of inventions being sent to various companies through the program.
To begin with, earlier in June, a Texas-based infomercial company that has had numerous television successes throughout the past decade agreed to join Innovation Direct™, and ITT Licensing™ representatives had committed to getting them a package of inventions in multiple categories to review as soon as possible.
Accordingly, the ITT Licensing™ representative managing their Innovation Direct™ account put together preliminary, non-confidential information on 20 Invent-Tech inventor product ideas, spanning the household, fitness, and lawn and garden categories. That information was sent via e-mail to our contact at the company, and the very next business day, the contact at the manufacturer had already responded and alerted us to the fact that they had an interest in acquiring more information about 3 of the items from the group. After signing the prerequisite non-disclosure agreement, access to all of the detailed design information available on each invention was sent, and we now await the company’s feedback on their review of that material.
A second case is that of a Massachusetts-based hardware products company that had become a part of the Innovation Direct™ program back in late February, and that was sent preliminary, non-confidential information on 12 Invent-Tech inventor product ideas recently. The manufacturer, which has been in business for 128 years and consequently is one of the most respected names in the hardware industry, has already reviewed one previous Innovation Direct™ package but did not have any further interest in those items. We are certainly hopeful that there will be a different result on this occasion and will bring you the details of any developments here on the Invent-Tech Network.
Finally, the Oklahoma-based company that we have reported on numerous times over the past year here on the Invent-Tech Network, and that is the exclusive U.S.-based licensee of a globally-renowned electronics brand, was recently sent a package of preliminary, non-confidential information on 10 Invent-Tech inventor product concepts. The manufacturer, which actively seeks products in the home security, computer accessories, consumer electronics, and home automation categories, had previously reviewed varied pieces of information on 56 Invent-Tech inventor ideas in the past 11 months through the Innovation Direct™ program.

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in one final time regarding the Licensing International 2008 show. Customarily, the final day of a trade show exhibit is somewhat more deliberately paced than the earlier installments, primarily because many of the attendees have tended to their business during the first two days of the show and have flown back to their offices to tend to other business.
However, the often reduced traffic is usually a blessing in disguise, as it provides ample opportunity for exhibitors to network with others on the show floor, and to visit more extensively with those that stop by their booth. Our trade show contingent reports that such was essentially the case on Thursday, as they conversed with quite a few individuals intrigued by ITT Licensing™’s range of services for inventors.
Additionally, a member of our trade show team did have opportunities to collect business cards from fellow exhibitors on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors, and those will be reviewed in detail upon his return to the office, with the purpose of determining whether there will be some viable candidates for the Innovation Direct™ program within the group.
Join us in the coming weeks on the Invent-Tech Network as we update you on any follow-ups with the companies met during Licensing International 2008!
June 12th, 2008
Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’ s Director of Product Licensing, checking in one final time for Day 2 of Licensing International 2008. Our trade show contingent reports that the last couple of hours of this terrific event’s second day contained the same heavy traffic flow at the ITT Licensing™ exhibit booth as the earlier part of the day.
Although they did not have time to elaborate on any contacts made on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors during the very latter part of the day, we are certain to receive more information tomorrow during Day 3. With the substantial attendance that the first 2 days of the show have boasted, it would not be surprising to learning that the final installment brings much of the same!
Join us Thursday for all the details!

Good evening, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’ s Director of Product Licensing, checking back in one final time with an update regarding Day 1 of Licensing International 2008. A great first day wrapped up for ITT Licensing™ on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors with the securing of several new leads at the exhibit booth, which experienced a considerable amount of traffic during the afternoon hours.
Among the notable companies spoken to were a Pittsburgh-based manufacturer seeking all manner of inventions related to eyewear and related accessories; an outfit headquartered in Malaysia that is seeking to review items in a wide variety of categories, due to their diversified manufacturing capabilities; and another company that seeks new ideas in the area of board games.
We naturally will be attempting follow-ups with these entities on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors shortly after the conclusion of the trade show and will bring you all relevant updates, here on the Invent-Tech Network. In the meantime, join us on Wednesday as we bring you all of the details regarding Day 2 of Licensing International 2008!
June 10th, 2008
Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking back in with a quick update regarding Day 1 of Licensing International 2008. One of my colleagues attending the event has checked in and informed me that he has made a contact with one of the oldest and most established boys’ organizations in the world, and that according to this conversation with them, they are always receptive to reviewing new items in the outdoor and camping category that they can place their well recognized brand on.
We are pleased to learn of this development and will be following up with this lead on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors in the days immediately following the conclusion of the show. We are also glad to see that Day 1 of the 2008 version of Licensing International appears to be following the pattern of success experienced by ITT Licensing™ in prior years of the event. Check back in later for a wrap-up of a successful first day!

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’ s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our first update regarding Licensing International 2008, taking place today through Thursday at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. This show has historically been a prolific one for ITT Licensing™ on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors, and we are certainly hopeful that the 2008 version of the proceedings will continue this trend.
Day 1 certainly has gotten off to a positive start in this regard, as the ITT Licensing™ trade show contingent has already made one particularly valuable contact on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors in the form of a representative of a Neece, France-based manufacturer of hardware and tools with considerable distribution points in the United States for their products, according to information they culled in their conversation with him Tuesday morning. The gentleman was very intrigued by the sound of ITT Licensing™’s Innovation Direct™ program, and requested that his company be implemented into the process as soon as possible.
We are certain that Day 1 will continue along in successful fashion, and all the details will be found here on the Invent-Tech Network. Join us later in the day for more!

Good evening, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’ s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our Day 3 report regarding the 2008 National Hardware Show with Lawn and Garden World. The event’s final day was another successful endeavor for the ITT Licensing™ trade show contingent, as traffic remained relatively strong and several more contacts were made that appear to be potentially valuable for Invent-Tech inventor product ideas.
One of the members of our trade show team who toured the exhibit floor extensively yesterday and today explained that not only were the attendees of the event quite eclectic, but that our fellow exhibitors were as well. My colleague explained that among the companies he met outside of the hardware industry were those specializing in snack foods, electronics, and bathroom items, just to name a few. We certainly will have a considerable number of companies to contact beginning next week regarding Invent-Tech inventor product ideas and look forward to forging a number of beneficial new relationships from this group.
Thank you for joining us for our trade show coverage. Join us Monday, May 19th as we bring you all the latest on our follow-ups with companies from the last 2 shows!

The trade show contingent wrapped up today’s proceedings by making a potentially valuable contact on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors with a leading plumbing products company.
The gentleman approached the ITT booth and was extremely intrigued by the potential that ITT Licensing™’s Innovation Direct™ program can offer his company. Both parties agreed that ITT Licensing™ would be following up as soon as possible after the conclusion of the event to inaugurate the company’s Innovation Direct™ account with their first batch of Invent-Tech inventor product ideas.

May 7th, 2008
Good afternoon, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with another report on all of the happenings during Day 2 of the 2008 National Hardware Show with Lawn and Garden World. The day continues to be a productive one for the ITT Licensing™ trade show contingent on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors, as they recently met with the largest wholesaler of hardware items in Trinidad at the exhibit booth.
The gentleman explained that he is looking to expand the product lines he carries and would be willing to arrange manufacturing for any items he reviews that truly stand out to him. Accordingly, the company representative was amenable to the idea of having his company join the Innovation Direct™ program, and expects follow-up from ITT Licensing™ regarding Invent-Tech inventor product ideas after the event is over.
At the present time, one of the members of the ITT Licensing™ trade show team is also on the show floor networking with fellow exhibitors, and will check in later with a report. Join us late this evening for a final wrap-up of Day 2!
May 7th, 2008
Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our first update regarding the 2008 National Hardware Show with Lawn and Garden World, which ITT Licensing™ is exhibiting in on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors. With the Hardware Expo and Construction Products Exhibit just having wrapped up in Puerto Rico last week, there has barely been time to focus on this terrific event, which will take place today-Thursday at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This marks the 63rd annual edition of the event, and ITT Licensing™ has found it to be one of the true gems of our trade show itinerary each year.
As per the show’s official website, over 3,000 exhibitors representing more than 150 product categories are expected, and approximately 30,000 attendees are primed to walk the aisles of the Las Vegas Convention Center and interact with them. In 2007, the show’s official website cites 18% of the attendees of last year’s procedings as being of international origin, lending a true global component to the event. Adding to the appeal of this show is the fact that two other successful events in their own right are co-located with it, Lawn and Garden World and the Homewares Show. Essentially three multi-billion dollar industries are represented, making this event an incredibly fertile ground for the garnering of potentially valuable leads for Invent-Tech inventor product ideas represented by ITT Licensing™.
Our trade show contingent informs us that Day 1 has already gotten off to a strong start, with traffic in the aisles being quite steady. We will have an update for you later in the day, here on the ITT Blog. Stay tuned!
May 6th, 2008
Good evening, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in one final time regarding the 2008 Hardware Expo and Construction Products Exhibit. The story of this year’s event, which marks the 2nd year that ITT Licensing™ has participated in some capacity, is the leap up the show seemed to take over last year in number of both exhibitors and attendees.
As our trade show contingent, traffic at the ITT Licensing™ booth was consistent throughout the 3 days, even with the proceedings transpiring over a weekend. Additionally, as evidenced by all of our previous postings regarding the show, there appeared to be an impressive array of renowned companies in the hardware and tool industry on hand, with other industries certainly also well represented.
One of ITT Licensing™’s principal beliefs regarding trade shows is that the true value of the contacts made is often not seen until months later at the earliest. The possible benefits of forging relationships with many of these companies come into clearer view after they are able to review Invent-Tech inventor product ideas through ITT Licensing™ for an extended period of time.
Join us next week as we come to you from Las Vegas and the 2008 National Hardware Show with Lawn and Garden World!
