Good morning, Juan C. Blanco, Invent-Tech’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with a very quick and early Wednesday morning update. A product that Invent-Tech helped license in September 2005 and that we have reported on in this space on several occasions, the IDDO Back Support, recently was discussed in a newspaper article in the inventor’s hometown of Las Vegas. We are extremely pleased to read about the product’s continued progression towards the consumer market as described in the article, and very proud of the mention of Invent-Tech’s prominent role in the licensing of the IDDO Back Support as well.

Good afternoon, Juan C. Blanco, Invent-Tech’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in once again with a follow-up to a scenario we first reported on last night here on the Invent-Tech Network. As we had mentioned in our final entry for yesterday, we had received an impromptu introduction to the Director of Hardlines Product Development for a major children’s cable network and had scheduled more of an official meeting with him for today.
That meeting did indeed take place, and we had an opportunity to discuss their network’s product positioning strategies and the corresponding item categories that their various character images would potentially fit well with. We were able to develop a preliminary strategy of what types of ideas we can supply them information on, and we discussed important logistical and legal matters such as their preferred methods of receiving product information, as well as their policies on confidentiality. They are very comfortable with signing non-disclosure agreements, and we should therefore be able to seamlessly forge and maintain an ongoing relationship with them.
We feel that this contact, along with the countless others we’ve made during these three very fruitful days, will potentially serve our inventors very well. Even though the show is winding down, we are still not done! We expect to be busy until the final bell and will provide an additional update later this afternoon, right here on the Invent-Tech Network.

Good afternoon, Juan C. Blanco, Invent-Tech’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our first update from Day 2 of Licensing International 2006. Much like yesterday, the first few hours of this event have been incredibly busy, and this is our first opportunity to provide an update on the many positive developments that have been transpiring.
We just wrapped up a 4 hour meeting in our booth with representatives of several companies, who are looking for items in the categories of toys, games, sporting goods, health and beauty, cosmetics, and novelty items. One of the companies holds the licensing rights to several prestigious brands that they are looking to place on innovative and exciting new items. They are all very excited about the fact that Invent-Tech can serve as an ongoing source of new product information. We went over the preliminary information for quite a few product ideas in these categories over the 4 hour time period, and we certainly have quite a bit of follow-up to do once we get back to our offices after the show.
Additionally, another one of our Manufacturer Response Team representatives has had multiple meetings today with the licensee of the Bag Rack and several of his business associates. As I’d reported yesterday in this space, the licensee has been extremely pleased with the experience of working with Invent-Tech so far, and he wanted to introduce the representatives of several other companies to us to discuss possible future product commercialization opportunities.
Check back frequently with the Invent-Tech Network for more updates from Day 2, as we expect many more newsworthy developments!

Good afternoon, Juan C. Blanco, Invent-Tech’s Director of Product Licensing, reporting on another positive interaction that we have had here during Day 1 of Licensing International 2006. As we had reported leading up the show, we were scheduled to meet with several companies during the three days of the event. We had one such meeting this morning with representatives of companies who deal with consumer electronics and fitness items, respectively.
We reviewed preliminary information on some specific products in this category, and made plans for them to stop in and review additional ones tomorrow. As we’ve explained before, it is rare, but certainly not impossible, for a company to make the time during a show to review information on specific items. We are pleased that these two contacts are able to take some time to look at some product ideas from our roster, as we are now able to directly furnish them detailed design information on the ones they do have further interest in as soon as we get back to our offices.
This once again serves as an example of the incredible leverage an Invent-Tech client has when they contract our company for inventor assistance services. We are able to use our very visible presence here to attract some of the decision makers of companies in a variety of industries to our booth, and in the process put many of our inventors’ product ideas in a potential position to succeed!

Good evening, Juan C. Blanco, Invent-Tech’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in after an eventful Thursday for the Manufacturer Response Team. We continued our very busy pace today, as we received quick word back from the company we followed up with after the Hardware Show that had reviewed a large batch of product ideas from our roster. As you may recall reading in yesterday’s post (”Strategic meetings, trade show follow-ups highlight eventful week so far for Invent-Tech’s Manufacturer Response Team…“), we had originally sent this company over 150 product idea press releases, and they had been interested in obtaining more information on 84 of those.
We have already sent them detailed design information on half of those 84, and they expressed an advanced level of interest in over 20 of these concepts. Invent-Tech’s Visual Design Team is already working on preparing copies of an Interactive Virtual Reality Prototype (IVRP) on each idea in order to meet their request for a more detailed visual of the product’s features and functionality. We will continue to keep you posted on any developments with these items if and when they occur, right here on the Invent-Tech Network.
We continue our trade show follow-ups with the other companies we met at recent trade shows, and we will likewise keep you abreast of any positives regarding those in this space as well.

Good evening, Juan C. Blanco, Invent-Tech’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in after an eventful Thursday.
I spoke to the main contact for the licensee of the Compu-Clean, an invention that Invent-Tech facilitated the licensing of in 2005. I was informed that full production is ready to go, and that they have already generated some sales off their website. Additionally, the licensee explained that they are in serious discussions with two of the biggest consumer electronics and computer retail chains in the world regarding the Compu-Clean, and they are optimistic about the product being eventually made available through both outlets.
The licensee and the co-inventors are also in discussion with another company about the potential licensing of the European rights to the product. They are in the midst of planning a press release campaign to major publications in the consumer electronics and computer industries as well.
Once again, Invent-Tech is satisfied to learn that yet another product that our company had a role in helping advance appears to be making progress toward successful commercialization!

Invent-Tech’s Sr. Technical Writer here with some interesting history that may be of interest to golf product manufacturers as well as avid players. It is appropriate to introduce several innovative new golf products today, since the U.S. patent system was established on April 10, 1790 and, on April 10, 1916, the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) held its first championship tournament.
The Scots are credited with originating the modern game of golf in the 15th century. The sport was played around sand dunes by hitting a pebble with a stick or club. Although the concept remains the same, the equipment used to play the game has changed dramatically over the centuries.
For example, the Scots used to hit their ball off of a small mound of dirt or sand. The golf tee was originally patented by William Bloxsom and Arthur Douglas in 1889. After several variations in design over the next 33 years, William Lowell patented and sold the “Reddy Tee” in 1922, which has become the standard in the sport. Two Invent-Tech inventors hope their inventions will become the next widespread industry success to improve the game of golf, enjoying similar success to Lowell’s “Reddy Tee.”
The Golf Training Aid, invented by David R. and John M., offers a simple method of improving a golfer’s putting skills. It teaches precise movements and adjustments that will greatly improve a player’s visualization ability.
With the help of this product, correct positioning will become second-nature. Every golfer knows that fine-tuning putting skills is critical to their overall game and impressing their playing partners, indicating the potential for the Golf Training Aid to be a huge success on the market.
Invented by David P, Dewoff, eliminates a common complaint of golfers who tee off after a nighttime downpour or afternoon shower. It provides a secure location to set down a club when the ground is wet, keeping the handle dry, in a compact design that fits in the user’s pocket.
For granting simple convenience on the green, Dewoff golfers who wish to maintain their clubs in the utmost condition will bring this accessory along on every outing. With its highly noticeable features, Dewoff ensures the user never forgets it or their club on the course. Dewoff is affordably priced and convenient, making it indispensable to the vast market of golfers at any level.
These original ideas are now available for licensing to manufacturers interested in new product development. The inventors hope to have their inventions in full production and available to the public in the very near future.
Additional information about the Golf Training Aid, Dewoff or other products Invent-Tech represents may be obtained by contacting the Publicity/Press Department of Invent-Tech at (800) 940-9020 ext. 2285 or at products@invent-tech.com. Invent-Tech recently made its annual fall trek out west for the landmark event of the multi-billion dollar infomercial and direct response industry, the ERA (Electronic Retailing Association) Annual Convention. The exhibit took place from September 19th -21st 2005 – this year at a new venue, the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. Previously, the show had been held at the Paris Hotel, also in Las Vegas.
The ERA event brings together all of the leading companies who utilize electronic media such as television and the Internet to sell their products and services. As the convergence of televisions, satellite and cable services increases and the number of individuals logging onto the Internet grows exponentially each year, it is unquestionable that sales to consumers through these channels will continue to expand as well. However, there are certain characteristics that most direct response marketers look for in a new invention. Mass appeal, producibility and profitability are naturally important factors, but equally as important are less obvious things such as current trends in particularly “hot” market segments.
Invent-Tech assists inventors of new product concepts such as the Hot and Cold Sheets, developed by California inventors Wendy and Dean Yado, and the TB Night Light, developed by David Abrego of Texas. Both products are good examples of the types of new products that appeal to the DRTV or Direct Response TV industry.
The Hot and Cold Sheets double the versatility of traditional bed sheets by providing a couple with equal comfort. They also save the consumer money and the hassle of having to buy multiple sets of sheets. The Yados developed this product as a way to satisfy their individual sleeping preferences. They have a working prototype available for confidential review.
David Abrego wanted to find a way to go to the restroom at night without having to turn a glaring and blinding light on when he conceived the idea for the TB Night Light. Specially created to reduce “misses” around a toilet seat, its unique design makes it possible to accurately aim into the bowl by providing subtle but effective illumination. The TB Night Light also benefits women as they will never again have to worry about sitting down onto a “wet” toilet in the middle of the night. The TB Night Light lights the way!

Unless you’re one of those last minute shoppers picking out gifts the night before Christmas or Hanukah, you’ve probably already started buying gifts for the upcoming giving season. Shopping for children is often the most fun. The pure joy and excitement on a child’s face when they receive a new toy brings unparalleled satisfaction.
The toy industry is an incredibly competitive one. Each new generation of toy consumer is a unique product of their environment. As kids’ lives become more ingrained with electronics and technology, the mass media, and the global community, toy manufacturers are forced to respond rapidly in order to satisfy their primary market - the kids - as well as the parents who control the pocketbook.
Toys are very important developmentally for children, who learn much about life through play. Invent-Tech is proud to represent independent inventors with toy concepts designed for the 21st century that meet the demands of today’s tech-savvy children.
Orlando Pruitt is a factory worker who avidly plays video games in his spare time. This hobby motivated the Tennessee inventor to create an original product he calls the Universal Controller Port. This functional product easily adapts to any video game console, allowing users with different systems to play against each other. The Universal Controller Port is great for any type of game, is simple to install and affordably priced.
Problems can arise when youngsters are drawn to items that they are familiar with but are not necessarily a toy to be played with. Mississippi inventors Peggy and Thien Vuong experienced this problem when their grandchildren would come to visit, commandeering their cell phone. After racking up unnecessary charges on their bill and tying up use of the phone, the couple created an invention to entertain the children without the need to hand them a fully-functional cellular telephone. Their solution is called the Busy Bee. It reproduces the basic shape and features of a cellular telephone that children love, but without the expensive monthly statement. With the Vuongs’ invention, kids can listen to recordings of relative’s voices and play games. This product is affordable and is ideal for any family that has curious children and wants to keep their expensive electronics intact.
Marion Elizabeth Butler of New York has created a new and innovative doll for children. Dolls have been a playtime staple for many generations. Utilizing modern technology to bring new life to an age-old toy, Ms. Butler has created a unique toy call Little Girl’s Friend which promises to bring hours of entertainment. Little Girl’s Friend is easy to play with and completely safe for children of any age. It is controlled from a distance and is affordable for families at any economic level.
