Good evening, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in one final time regarding the 2008 Hardware Expo and Construction Products Exhibit. The story of this year’s event, which marks the 2nd year that ITT Licensing™ has participated in some capacity, is the leap up the show seemed to take over last year in number of both exhibitors and attendees.
As our trade show contingent, traffic at the ITT Licensing™ booth was consistent throughout the 3 days, even with the proceedings transpiring over a weekend. Additionally, as evidenced by all of our previous postings regarding the show, there appeared to be an impressive array of renowned companies in the hardware and tool industry on hand, with other industries certainly also well represented.
One of ITT Licensing™’s principal beliefs regarding trade shows is that the true value of the contacts made is often not seen until months later at the earliest. The possible benefits of forging relationships with many of these companies come into clearer view after they are able to review Invent-Tech inventor product ideas through ITT Licensing™ for an extended period of time.

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with the first report on the third and final day of the 2008 Hardware Expo and Construction Products Exhibit. Continuing the theme of the varied group of attendees at this terrific show that we alluded to in Saturday’s final posting, the ITT Licensing™ trade show contingent kicked off the Day 3 proceedings by making contact with the representative of a household products company that specializes in cleaning accessories.
As with other contacts made during the show, the gentleman who spke with our trade show team was briefed on the details of ITT Licensing™’s dynamic new product idea subscription service for manufacturers, Innovation Direct™, and was receptive to having his company included. Accordingly, ITT Licensing™ representatives will be following up with this company as soon as possible next week to begin the process.
Join us this evening for a final wrap-up of both Day 3 and the 2008 Hardware Expo and Construction Products Exhibit overall!

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, back with our wrap-up for all of the happenings on Day 2 of the 2008 Hardware Expo and Construction Products Exhibit. Traffic at the event continued at a brisk pace for the duration of Saturday afternoon and evening at the Puerto Rico Convention Center according to our trade show contingent, and a conversation with the representative of a company specializing in all types of trucking accessory highlighted the latter part of the day.
The company representative was intrigued at the possibilities that ITT Licensing™’s Innovation Direct™ program offers, and emphasized that his company would certainly be receptive to begin receiving new product idea information on Invent-Tech inventor product ideas an ongoing basis. The company currently manufactures and markets all types of products for light trucks and vans, and are open to expanding their lines if the right item comes along.
We are pleased to close out Day 2 with a tangible example of how it is entirely possible to meet a company that is in an industry that falls somewhat outside the official theme of a show, further substantiating ITT Licensing™’s belief that all of the trade shows we attend can present potential opportunity for any invention on the Invent-Tech roster.
Join us Sunday for the details on the final day of this event!

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our initial report on the 2008 Hardware Expo and Construction Products Exhibit. The show, which is taking place at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan from tonight through Sunday evening, is already producing solid results for ITT Licensing™ and by extension, the Invent-Tech inventor products we represent.
Although today’s opening installment only spanned 3 hours, it was replete with potentially valuable contacts for ITT Licensing™ and Invent-Tech clients. Members of our trade show contingent were able to forge initial relationships with representatives from two of the leading tool manufacturers in the world, as well as impressive companies in the pet and automotive fields.
Tomorrow the show features its first full day, a 10 hour tilt that will keep our trade show team busy until 8pm local time. Check in with us throughout Saturday for updates on Day 2 of what so far looks to be a terrific event!

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, ITT’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our latest update on our efforts on behalf of Invent-Tech inventors. Today we provide you with an update on a situation we had last reported on in a January 28th entry (”Update: Invent-Tech facilitates conference call with inventor and potential licensee of bedding accessory…“). In that posting, we had provided the details of a conference call that took place with the potential licensee of a bedding invention regarding the due diligence he has been conducting on the product idea. The manufacturer had recently contacted us about putting together another call so that he could provide an update.
Accordingly, an ITT Licensing™ representative recently facilitated a conference call wherein the manufacturer went on to explain that he had been waiting on some quotes from a factory in China that he would potentially use to mass produce the item were he to decide to license it, and that he had now obtained the numbers, which looked favorable.
He also emphasized that his next step over the next several weeks before making a decision was to have some of his company’s sales representatives canvass some existing distributors and retailers they did business with regarding the product idea to get a feel for how receptive they would be to carrying it. Additionally, the principal of the company himself plans to visit the owners of two high-end hotels that he knows personally in order to get their feelings on the item and gauge the interest they’d have in purchasing it in mass quantities for the thousands of guest rooms in their facilities. All parties agreed to reconvene in early May on the telephone for a conference call that will likely be instrumental in the future of the invention with this particular manufacturer.
